Serve Virginia Meeting with Faith Leaders
We want to help you solve your service, mission and volunteerism challenges both inside and outside your house of worship.
· Did you know that most Virginians who currently volunteer their time started volunteering because they were invited to do so by their faith community?
· Did you know that faith communities, along with nonprofits, have the highest level of institutional trust of any entity in Virginia?
· Did you know that where these residents choose to volunteer often aligns with who they trust to address the greatest needs and priorities in Virginia?
These are just a few of the extraordinary findings about the strategic importance of faith-based community engagement and volunteerism in Serve Virginia’s new report called the Virginia Community Engagement Index.
We would like to invite you, as a valued leader in the faith community, to join us and Serve Virginia this summer for a one-hour virtual event that will:
· Introduce you to the report’s key findings, with an emphasis on its value to you as a faith leader
· Encourage you to continue the good work your faith community is already doing in the community
· Connect you with other faith leaders who are looking to bolster volunteerism, service and mission
· Give you an opportunity to share with Serve Virginia what tools and resources your faith community needs to grow volunteerism
This event will be held twice – June 25th and July 16th, both from Noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom to accommodate busy summer schedules. Register for the events here:
This invitation is for everyone on your staff who works with volunteers both internally and externally. Also, please feel free to share this invitation with other faith leaders in your networks that share your heart for community engagement. We are better together!
